Born and raised in Valencia, Venezuela, Mariana left her native country in 1999 with a desire to explore a bigger world.  For the past 12 years, she has travelled  throughout the U.S. and Latin America both pursuing formal education in the social sciences and working on community development projects.

Mariana discovered her passion for photography during her years in college after taking a black –and-white film course. Since then, she has intertwined her interest for social change, public work and people with documentary photography and photojournalism. You can see her documentary work on her blog. Mariana is currently pursuing photography studies at Austin Community College. She also holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Economics and Management from Ohio Wesleyan University and a Master in Public Policy from Princeton University.

Wedding Photography
Mariana’s ability to look at events through a documentary lens gives her a unique advantage when photographing weddings –  she concentrates in capturing moments as they happen.  She enjoys both taking photos from a distance and getting right into the mix of the celebrations to capture emotions and actions intimately.  Mariana is a member of the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA).
