Q&A
What is your approach to wedding photography?
My background in documentary photography is the strongest asset that my clients gain when they hire me, as I come to their wedding with a fresh mind. Since I not only shoot weddings, I am able to use the knowledge I gain in photo assignments and personal projects and apply them to each wedding. I will concentrate on documenting my client’s day as it unfolds.
What is your background in photography?
Over the past eight years I have taken multiple photography courses including black & white, composition and lighting, portraiture, documentary photography and digital workflow. I am currently continuing my photography studies at Austin Community College. I believe mastering the craft of photography is a life-long learning enterprise and as such I look forward to continue to learn and master the art of “seeing” through a documentary lens.
What equipment do you use?
I shoot all digital with professional Canon Digital SLR cameras and an assortment of lenses and other accessories.
Do you take candid as well as formal portraits?
I can be entrusted to take many candid photos throughout the wedding as it is through these photographs that I bring my documentary/photojournalism background into life. I will also work closely with my clients to develop a list of desired formal portraits and offer guidance and direction when taking them.
How do we book you?
A contract and a non-refundable $500 retainer fee is required at the time of booking to secure your date, the retainer will be applied toward your balance. Your final deposit is due two weeks prior to the wedding date.
How soon will be able to see our wedding photographs?
All photographs are individually processed for correct exposure and color, adding to the time it takes to deliver the final images. Final collections are presented on an online image gallery approximately 4-8 weeks after the wedding day.
